Talk to your teen about consent & what it means

Befriend your kid’s Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat & Twitter accounts if possible

Don’t be embarrassed to talk about porn, pitching the conversation so it’s age appropriate

Remind your teen they can always call home if they need a lift or if they’re in trouble

Encourage your teen to take a deep breath, the occasional digital detox and practice self-care

Advice we’ve given to teenagers

Do your Homework:

Know your date’s surname, address, school. Make sure someone else you trust knows who you are going out with and where you are going. Stick to public places.

Emergency Money and Mobiles:

Always keep some money tucked away so that you can get yourself home if necessary. Keep mobiles charged to call home.

Stick to the Plan:

If you come together, leave together. Don’t get isolated or leave friends behind.

Friends:

If your friend has gone missing for a while at a bar or party, look for him/her. They might be in trouble.

Don’t get Drunk:

The more vulnerable you are, the more likely you can be a target. Keep your radar sharp. And remember Rohypnol. It is out there!
